Doctor Doctor Username and Password is a No! No!

If you have ever purchased any kind of software or electronic device that comes with a default username and password you are almost always told to change at least the password and in most cases both the username and password. To keep the default password would invite those who know the default password to easily unlock or open what you don’t want anyone to see.

Softdent Software users have this fatally flawed habit of keeping the default username and password either as their main admin password or as one of the many usernames and passwords they have used over the years.

The best thing and most secure thing to do is have different usernames and passwords for everyone on staff. All usernames and passwords are created and controlled by Softdent’s System Security Rights by User. The admin password or the master password should only be known by the doctor. With this admin password he or she can create usernames and passwords for all those who would be using the softdent software. Once these usernames and passwords are setup with permissions they should only be changed if an employee is terminated or leaves the practice.

The “doctor” username and “doctor” password should be totally eliminated and replaced with something only known by the doctor and staff. You should also eliminate the “blank” username and “blank” password if it resides on your list. If you are not sure of or don’t remember your admin username and password don’t panic because you can always have it decoded by one of your trusted softdent support staff members.
