Experience Marketing for Dental Practices
Smart retailers, service providers and dental practices are implementing new protocols to enhance customer experiences. This in efforts to reassure consumers they are making the right spending choices.
Positive, enjoyable experiences are what motivate us to pay four dollars for coffee at Starbucks® or hundreds per night to stay at the Four Seasons®. These experiences make us feel good and help justify purchases in our mind.
Take a look at what’s happening at your local grocery store. The clerks smile, greet you and they’ll gladly escort you to the items you can’t find. Have you noticed Home Depot® has greeters at the front door? They anticipate your needs and save you the time to search for help. Even Honda® dealerships now offer refreshments both before, and after, oil changes.
Here are few ways dental practices can help enhance patient experiences.
Bottled water – not just upon arrival, increase your offer to those departing appointments as well.
Breath mints – have mints available in consult rooms (this is especially comforting to many periodontal disease patients), and at the checkout desk.
Escort patients – when patients ask where the restroom is take time to walk with them. Rather than leaning over the front desk or pointing fingers, help make people feel special by personally showing them.
Little extras – make hairspray, hand cream and body spray available in your patient bathroom. We’ve all seen patients leave our practice with “chair-hair” after cleanings or lengthy treatments. Patient’s will appreciate the amenities to freshen up before heading out for the rest of their day.
Brainstorm with your team to develop a list of upgrades for your practice. Experiences don’t have to be expensive or time consuming. You’ll be surprised when you and your team put yourself in your patient’s shoes, focus and think…
There are dozens of ideas you can implement today to make patients feel just as good as you do about the wonderful dentistry you provide.
